Story

Linking to panipuri, I have many stories to share with you guys but let me tell you the best one. Being an International student in Canada, it is hard to find options for authentic Indian street food. During my previous course at Humber North, once we were going through a really hectic week due to assignment submissions and exams. During that time we used to be in college for more than 12 hours and we were pretty much bored with all the cafeteria food. We all friends were craving for some Indian food to get us out of the stress. We decided to do a get-together and make some panipuri. Everyone was on board with the plan and some of our Non- Indian friends also joined us. The people got divided into groups and took care of one of each responsibilities. Some of them went to Indian store to get the ingredients and other went home and started preparing it. Once the panipuri got ready we all sat together and and served it in the plates. There was some Indian music going on in the background. Everyone looked excited and happy. As I ate panipuri, it felt like I was giving a treat to my tummy after a long time. All the stress of exams and submissions was forgotten at the moment and the happiness of eating panipuri was enjoyed by everyone in the room. The fun part was to teach our non- Indian friends the ways to eat panipuri and making them enjoy our Indian street food. A mini competition of who can eat maximum Panipiuri in 2 mins was also held. That night felt like a party night to me. It reminded me of all the fun I used to have back in India. That night, that people made me feel like family away from home.

Thinking of this day back today makes me imagine about How amazingly food helps you to connect with people!! I hope reading this story remind you of something similar happened in your life.
